Install hardwood flooring
Home & Gardens September 19th, 2008If you are thinking to install hardwood flooring at your home then it’s much like putting puzzle at one single place. There are different methods of installation which are used. These methods includes nail –down installation, glue down installation and last one is floating installation.
If you have a level sub floor at your home then you will go for the option of nail down installation ,on the other hand the glue down and floating installation are usually used for the wood and concrete sub floors but the floors should be level. In the case of Solid Oak Flooring Unfinished you are going to use nail down installation method.
Before starting the installation procedure you have to remove all baseboards or any kind of shoe molding material. You will use the baseboard material to hide the gap which you will leave for the process of expansion and contraction of the wood. So it’s important for you to make sure that your sub floor is clear to all the walls of the room for the installation of the base and for the shoe molding phase.
In Solid Oak Flooring Brushed Oiled Finish you have to screw in the down direction any loose or shrill board and you must be having some undercut door jambs which will allow you to fix the wood under the floor. Now you have to start laying the first row. Now let the row to get dry for up to 3 feet or so on. After this now lay the next row and then install your base modeling. It will be better if you will add some kind of adhesive in the bottom because these are the most rush areas.
