Fabulous Fall Activities at the Paris Grand Palais
Travel & Vacation February 10th, 2008Fall and winter are wonderful times to visit the Paris Grand Palais hotel. This grand hotel was built for the World’s Fair in 1900, and was meant to be a temporary structure. However, the people of Paris could not stand to see it torn down, and so the building remains today. After being closed for some time, it was reopened in 2005, and again in 2006 after necessary renovations. Since that time, the Grand Palais is one of the best places to visit during those cold winter months, and a center for art and history.
Year round the Grand Palais hotel hosts a myriad of artistic displays, including galleries, film shows, and presentations. The venue for these artistic performances and presentations is the newly refurbished and renovated auditorium, which functions well as a music hall as well. The Paris Petit Palais is also a forum for much activity in the fall and winter. The Grand Palais also houses many museums that function year round, as well as an interactive science museum for children. Winter time will find both historical hotels equipped with elaborate Christmas trees and other decorations, and filled with the voices of carolers. There is really no other way to stay warm and enjoy the rich culture of Paris than at these two historical establishments, and they are accessible from many Paris hotels, especially the Paris Eiffel Tower hotels.
