The Four Parenting Styles
Posted by Quizzes on September 26th, 2008There are as many parenting types as there is the total number of parents. Experts believe there are four types of parenting styles. These are as follows:
The first of them is The Authoritarian Parent. These parents issues ‘orders’ and expect their children to carry those out without any questions. There is no feed back I this parenting. The rules are defined and no child is allowed to exceed any of such rules.
Secondly, there is The Indulgent Parent or Democratic Parent. They are lenient class of parents who avoid any confrontations with their children and have ‘free’ relations with them. They allow a variety of behavior their children look after themselves which allows children to show variety of behaviors which tends to give them confidence. These parents are more aware of their child’s activities and are engaged them with their child development.
Thirdly, there is The Authoritative Parent. These are the mixture of the aforesaid kinds. They represent the most open minded group of all the kinds of parents. They expect their child to behave in a certain manner but at the same time they do not impose authoritarian-like restrictions. They display a mixture of boldness coupled with the response to child’s feedback. They represent the happiest children parent relationship. This provides he child with a sense of confidence and social skills.
Fourthly, there is the style called The Uninvolved Parent. They are totally uninvolved wit their children. They neither demand any response nor do they entertain any feedback. They are the most irresponsible variety of parents and often neglect their children.
